Southerners On New Ground (SONG)

Southerners On New Ground (SONG) is a Southern regional multiracial LGBTQ membership organization that specializes in grassroots organizing and leadership development. SONG builds a strong community of LGBTQ people in the South who are ready and willing to do their part to challenge oppression in order to bring about liberation for ALL people. Song’s work strives to bring together marginalized communities to work towards justice and liberation for all people.

Through a partnership with the Transgender Law Center, SONG will host a fellowship program that will empower emerging leaders in the South to address issues of poverty, criminalization, access to healthcare, systemic racism, and other issues that impact the transgender community, the gender non-conforming community, and people living with or affected by HIV.
